I recently created an affiliate program for those of you who are kind enough to refer an author to me. ❤️ Here’s a full rundown of how it works:
- Sign up for an affiliate account here: https://erinwright.typeform.com/affiliateprogEW
- You will receive an official welcome email from Rhiannon the PA, assigning your four-digit code. If you ever lose this four-digit code, please email Rhiannon and she’ll help you locate it again. Her email addy is rhi annon the pa (at) erinwright.net (remove spaces, of course!)
- Share the code! Anywhere that you’ve been given permission to share, I’m happy to have it shared. (Your social media accounts, via email, in groups, in newsletters – it’s your code! Share as you’d like). Please do not spam groups where you have not been given permission to post! If I heard authors were spamming groups with my affiliate code, my heart would be sad. Don’t make my heart sad!
The four-digit code will give your referral either of the following:
- $10 off a class taught by me (classes where I co-teach with another author do not always accept these codes; in those cases, it does depend on the class and who I’m co-teaching with. I will make this clear on a class-by-class basis)
- 10% off a one-on-one consultation with me (first-time consultations only)
Every time someone uses your code, you will receive the following:
- $5 credit towards your next follow-up consultation with me if an author signs up for a class
- $10 credit towards your next follow-up consultation with me if an author signs up for a one-on-one consultation
Please read through the FAQs below; signing up for my affiliate program means you agree to ALL of the following, so make sure you understand what you’re agreeing to.
Questions & Answers
This is by-invitation only and is restricted to those who've done a one-on-one consultation with me.* This means that if someone has only ever taken a class from me, they can use the program as an attendee and get discounts on classes, but they cannot sign up to become an affiliate.
*I retain sole discretion to assign or retract affiliate accounts from any author for any reason
You betcha! In the form, you have a place to type in a four-digit code (it can be alphanumeric, so a combination of letters and/or numbers as you'd like) that you'd like to request. If you don't care, leave it blank and Rhiannon will assign the code to you. If you pick a code that is already in use, Rhiannon will assign a different code to you.
As many as you'd like! 😀 No limits whatsoever. All referral credits that you accrue will never expire, so you can use them whenever you'd like.
No, sorry! You cannot use your own affiliate code when signing up to attend a class or consultation yourself.
You surely can! Although you cannot refer yourself to a class, you can be referred to a class by someone else and thus get the discounted price for that class.
Due to the already discounted nature of a follow-up consultation (50% off the cost of a new consultation), I do not allow an affiliate code to be applied to a follow-up consultation, only to a new consultation.
However, the affiliate credits that you've been accruing? Those can be used on follow-up consultations.
Examples for clarity:
EXAMPLE 1 – Author Jane is an affiliate of mine. She's accrued a total of $50 in referral credits from referring 10 authors to me. Her affiliate code is AJEW. When she signs up for a follow-up consultation, in the affiliate code section she would type "AJEW." Checking her account, I'd see she had $50 in referral credits and apply that towards the cost of her follow-up consultation, leaving a balance due of $49 ($99 minus $50 equals $49).
EXAMPLE 2: Author John is not an affiliate of mine (or has not accrued any referral credits yet). He fills out the follow-up consultation form and, hoping for 10% off the consultation, puts Jane's code in of AJEW. Because this is a follow-up consultation, I do not apply the 10% off discount, nor do I give Jane credit for referring John to me.
As of right now, this is all being managed manually, so you would email Rhiannon at rhiannon the pa (at) erin wright (dot) net (no spaces, of course!) and ask. She'll happily let you know.
Because authors can (and do) sign up for a class or consultation with me, pay for it, and then ask for a refund before the class or consultation takes place, credits are not applied to the referring author's account until the class or consultation has been paid for and has happened.
If you thought you'd referred lots of people to me but only have a few credits, it is possible they did not actually follow through on actually taking the classes or consultations.
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out! I promise, if there's a discrepancy, it's an honest mistake. ❤️
Specifically in Wide for the Win (Circle or Facebook), the following rules apply to affiliate codes:
- If I am posting about classes or consultations with me, you can reply down in the comment section and state that you have a discount code to share with anyone who'd like to PM or email you
- DO NOT SHARE THE CODE ITSELF IN THE COMMENT
- Doing so will get your comment deleted without warning or head's up that it's even happened (all admin staff for Wide for the Win know this, so the chances are high I won't even see said comment before it's been removed)
- Please do not start new threads on this topic, telling people you have a discount code and to message you for it
- If someone else starts a thread, talking about how much they loved their consultation with me, etc, you can reply down in the comment section that you have also found my consultations helpful, blah blah, and to reach out to you for a discount code via PM or email if anyone is interested in having their own consultation with me.
NOTE: The above applies to Wide for the Win only. For all other groups (Facebook or otherwise) that you belong to, you can post your code in the post itself if you'd like, as long as you have permission from the managers of that group to post something that has an affiliate code in it. This is strictly up to the people running said group. Permissions must be granted beforehand.
You betcha! If an author chooses to attend multiple classes from me (for example, a Foundational class and then later on, an Advanced class), they can use the same affiliate code each time, and continue to get a discount every time. You will get a credit for each referral.
No, sorry. These credits are only good for follow-up consultations with me and cannot be "cashed out".
First off, you'll make my heart very sad, and really, you shouldn't do that.
Secondly, depending on the egregiousness of your choices, consequences can range up to and including me revoking your affiliate account and deleting any credits you may have accrued thus far. I genuinely hope I'll never have to do that, but I do reserve the right to do so.
Here’s my contact form – please reach out! I’m happy to help however I can.
