Print Class 201 – Print Options & Distribution

Erin Wright – contemporary western romance authorHello and welcome to the home of all the deets on my Print 201 class. 👋 This is where things start to get interesting!

In Print 201, we’re going to go over the following:

  • The two main groups of print-on-demand (POD) print companies out there:
    • Those focused on helping authors sell in bookstores, libraries, and other retail spaces
    • Those focused on helping authors sell direct off their website using dropshipping, and/or creating special editions of books to sell via Kickstarter, etc
  • Pluses and minuses of each of these companies:
    • IngramSpark
    • KDP Print
    • D2D Print
    • BN Press
    • Lulu
    • BookVault
  • Putting together a distribution strategy to get your books into both physical bookstores and onto book websites (such as Amazon, Waterstones, etc):
    • Which print book formats should you focus on getting stocked in physical bookstores?
    • Discount and return policies – what settings to choose for which strategy
    • Which combination of site(s) should you use (IngramSpark and/or Amazon and/or BN Press and/or D2D Print and/or Lulu and/or BookVault)?
  • Preorder strategy for Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and IngramSpark

WARNING! If you choose to skip this class and then are confused about one of these topics in a future class, please understand that I am not going to circle back around and explain that particular concept. I’m sorry! My classes are long enough as they are (anyone who’s taken one of my classes knows it’s a really short one if it’s “only” 1.5 hours long). If I rehashed previously covered topics each time, these classes would become even longer than they already are, and nobody wants that. (Okay, let’s be real: My voice wouldn’t be able to handle that). 😏

If you are ready to sign up for the Print 201 class, here are the three classes available; check out the FAQs below for the specific times that they will be held:

  • November 20th (This is a “late” class and thus is a good fit for those who work during the day in the US, or live in Australia / New Zealand; this is being held on a Monday)
  • December 2nd (This is a Saturday class and thus a good fit for those who work during the week; this is being held late afternoon Eastern US time)
  • December 5th (This is an “early” class and thus is a good fit for those in the US or Europe; this is being held on a Tuesday)

The invoices are generated manually, so don’t be surprised if you don’t receive one right away.
